Jodi grew up with pet dogs, mixed breeds of collies and shepherds. She first bought her own dog, a Rottweiler, in 1997. Jodi and her husband Terry bought a second Rottweiler and then a Mastiff. She took them to classes for socialization and obedience.
In 2002, Jodi bought a show Mastiff and joined the Mastiff Parent Club. Jodi's proudest moment is earning her first championship on their Mastiff "Tori" - all owner handled!
A few years later, Jodi decided to buy a show Rottweiler and made an agreement with the breeder to enter a Regional Rottweiler show with two littermates a year later. They did, and all three won their RN titles on the same day.
Jodi and Terry moved to NC from upstate NY in 2008 They looked for a club to do obedience training and found Durham Kennel Club.
She has recently added carting and therapy to her dogs' activities. Three of her Rotties were in the Top 10 Carting for 2015 with the Rottweiler Parent Club.
The dogs have also been visiting a local nursing home over the past five years as therapy dogs.
Jodi enjoys the Durham Kennel Club because of all the encouragement from our experienced members. She also appreciates all of our club activities and the willingness to volunteer and help each other.
