Pam Brown

As so many collie folks have done, I grew up reading the Albert Payson Terhune books and watching Lassie on television.  That began a lifelong love of collies despite not being allowed to own a dog as a child.  I got my first pet collies when my husband and I lived in New England where I taught at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts.
Fast forward to my move to North Carolina in 1996 to work at Duke University s Fuqua School of Business.  We relocated here for my husband s teaching job at Durham Academy.  Once here, I volunteered with Collie Rescue of the Carolinas and fostered many puppies and adopted a rescue Collie.
I met Kathy Moll of Deep River Collies while taking herding lessons with Claire Apple in Pittsboro.  This began a several decade partnership with Kathy both in the show ring and whelping box.  We co-owned GCH Deep River s Bow and Arrow the year he was number 1 in Collie Club of America rankings.
Since that time, I have shown and bred numerous show champions and have earned performance titles in herding and rally.  GCHG CH Ceilidh s If I Can Dream was ranked in the top 5 several years running and was awarded the Haines Show Dog Trophy here at Durham Kennel Club in 2023. My current young dog, Morgan, CH Deer Hill Perfect Harmony CGC STR TKN PT JHDd, has taken many DKC classes and is currently trialing in herding.
I am a former President and Show Chair of the Piedmont Collie Club and a current member of two all-breed clubs: the Alamance Kennel Club and the Durham Kennel Club. I am on the board of the Alamance Kennel Club.
