AWARDS APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- You must be a current regular DKC member (your dues must have been paid) to apply for any awards, trophies, or plaques. Asssociate members are not eligible for awards.
- You must have performed 2 services for DKC this year. Life members are exempt from this requirement. PLEASE NOTE: The Board voted at the August 2024 Board Meeting to increase the requirement for awards applications. For the 2025 Awards year, the requirements are EIGHT (8) hours of verifiable service and attendance at TWO (2) Member Meetings.
- Applications are available below.
- The deadline for applications is January 26, 2025, at 5:00 PM. No applications will be accepted after this date. Mail or email COMPLETED APPLICATIONS and AKC certificates to: Lisa Roberts, 120 Argonne Drive, Durham, NC 27704, wonderdogs@earthlink.net. Please feel free to email or call (919.602.5788) to make sure I received them!
- All applications MUST be made on an application form. Emails, phone calls, and mail not made on an application form will not be accepted, as the information is usually incomplete. All mailed applications must be sent with adequate postage. Applications mailed with postage due will not be accepted.
- Awards, trophies, and certificates are for AKC titles only since we are an AKC club. We realize that there are other organizations that offer many quality titles but we can only recognize AKC titles. This is an AKC rule and we are an AKC club.
- A copy of your last AKC title certificate MUST be provided with the application form.
- Please read the requirements for trophies and follow the instructions on the application forms.
- ALL TROPHIES must be returned to an Awards Committee member no later than January 26, 2025.
- The Gray Versatility trophy, all the Agility trophies, the UDX A-handler trophy, and the Rally trophy Must Not Be Polished! All other trophies are to be polished before returning! The Awards Committee and the Board of Directors have decided that perpetual trophies will no longer go home with the recipient. We are currently looking for a cabinet to display all the trophies.
