A native of Indiana, I am a retired financial industry executive and live in Hillsborough. My husband and I got our first Whippet in 2000, after having a Bedlington terrier, Mini schnauzer, and a Springer spaniel.
We both took conformation classes and each one of the dogs also earned a CGC title.
We were initially interested in lure coursing, and our second Whippet earned a Field Championship in both AKC and ASFA, the two sighthound-specific lure coursing organizations.
Since then, I ’ve ventured into conformation, agility, obedience/rally, dock diving, and Whippet specific straight racing. We are proud to have AKC Grand Champions who also have running titles-Whippets who are dual champions and fulfill the original purpose of the breed.
I currently am a Board member of the Mid-Atlantic Hound Association and also a Team Leader for the Internal Financial Review Committee of the American Whippet Club.
In addition, I am an active member of three regional lure coursing clubs. Many weekends I am working at a coursing event as I complete my AKC Lure Coursing Judge license.
The DKC is important to me-many of you know me from the many fine classes we have taken for over 10 years. Thank you to all our instructors for sharing your knowledge!
