Kartye Brood Bitch
This trophy, one of a pair donated by Peter Kartye, is awarded annually to the DKC member/owner, or co-owner, of the brood bitch whose sons and daughters, in the opinion of the Awards Committee, have compiled the most notable record of achievement. This award can apply to agility, conformation, coursing, obedience, rally, tracking, or events in the Title Recognition Program and can be based upon titles earned during prior years.
Kartye Stud Dog
This trophy, one of a pair donated by Peter Kartye, is awarded annually to the DKC member/owner, or co-owner, of the stud dog whose sons and daughters, in the opinion of the Awards Committee, have compiled the most notable record of achievement. This award can apply to agility, conformation, coursing, obedience, rally, tracking, or events in the Title Recognition Program and can be based upon titles earned during prior years. The year, the dog’s name, and member’s name are to be inscribed on the trophy.
Oswick Award for Best Amateur Owner Handler Show Bitch
This award is offered by Oswick English Setters, Linda and Ed Wozniak, to encourage and promote owner handlers to exhibit their own dogs and enjoy the competition of the conformation ring at the breed, group, and best in show levels. The perpetual plaque, inscribed with the name of the dog and owner, will be awarded to the Show Dog that is completely amateur owner handled at all levels of competition within the year and accrues the most points as set forth below. handlers (anyone who has ever been paid to show a dog at any time) will be eligible to apply for this award. This award will follow the guideline restrictions for amateur owner handlers set forth by the American Kennel Club: (1) Must be owner or co-owner of the dog; (2) may not have shown a dog for funds or listed themselves as an “agent” on any dog; (3) may not be a judge with one or more group(s).
Owner Handler Best in Show
Thomas and Michele Wrath, Sunnyoaks Dalmatians, donated this plaque in 2022 to recognize DKC owners who handled their dog to a Best In Show (BIS).
This award will be retroactive to include any current, full members in good standing who achieved a BIS from the owner handler class.
Sun Magic Best Amateur Owner Handler Show Dog
This award is offered by Sun Magic Clumber Spaniels, Shelley and Chip Miller, to encourage and promote owner handlers to exhibit their own dogs and enjoy the competition of the conformation ring at the breed, group, and best in show levels. The perpetual plaque, inscribed with the name of the dog and owner, will be awarded to the Show Dog that is completely amateur owner handled at all levels of competition within the year and accrues the most points as set forth below. No professional handlers (anyone who has ever been paid to show a dog at any time) will be eligible to apply for this award.
