Puppy Class (Starts Tuesday May 20, 2008  7 Weeks - $70.00) -  
This class is for puppies 12 - 18 weeks of age.   Basic obedience exercises will be introduced with emphasis on socialization to other puppies and to people, sounds and objects.  Information on basic dog care will be offered.  The objective of this class is to promote bonding between owner and puppy and to prevent common canine behavior problems. 
 
Beginning Obedience (Starts Tuesday May 20, 2008 7 Weeks - $70.00) –
 Tips on dog care and health will be offered along with the following:  On-leash control, coming when called, sit and down stays, walking through doorways without pulling, walking up and down stairs under control, staying in the car until being invited to exit, stand and sit as approached and touched by a stranger.  The primary emphasis of this class will be to develop a positive relationship between the handler and dog.
 

Advance Fundations  (Starts Wednesday May 21, 2008 7 Weeks - $70.00) –
Prerequisite:  Must have completed Foundation class or have Instructors permission.
This class is for handlers who want to show their dog in obedience competition.  There will be physically interactive games and exercises designed to maximize attention, dependability, and fun for any dog who is headed toward performance in any venue.  Dogs in this class will be trained to respond instantly to sit and down at a distance and to hold these positions despite distractions.  The owner will have the opportunity to use these skills to proof or to introduce advanced exercises such as directed jumping, the broad jump, directed retrieve, go-outs, drop on recall and heel position.
 

Open Obedience (Starts Wednesday May 28, 2008 (class will meet every other week) 7 Weeks - $70.00) –
Prerequisite: Must have previously attended an Open class at DKC, have one CDX leg or  equivalent level training.
This class is for dogs and handlers who are well-versed in the Novice exercises, are reliable off-leash and ready to move on.  In the AKC Open Class, all exercises are performed off-leash.  Dogs in this class will be taught proper jumping technique for the retrieve over the high-jump, the broad jump and will also be taught how to properly hold and retrieve the dumbbell.  The drop on recall will be also taught.

 
Beginning Utility ( Wednesday May 21, 2008 (class will meet every other week) 7Weeks - $70.00) –
Prerequisite: Must have attended the Spring 2008 Beginner Utility class.
This class will be an introduction to the Utility exercises.  All dogs in this class should be reliable off-leash and should know the basics of jumping and retrieving.  This class will introduce dogs to go-outs, directed jumping, scent discrimination, glove retrieval and heeling with hand signals.  The focus in this class will be the development of attention on the part of the dog, positive work attitude and prevention of common Utility pit-falls. 


Stays  (Wednesday May 14, 2008 (first class is 55min. next 7 classes are 15 min.) 8Weeks $30.00)
Prerequisite: Dog must understand the stay command.
The class is designed to help the dog develop reliability and self-confidences by training to prevent movement while on stays.

Managing the Rambunctious Dog  (Wednesday May 21, 2008) 3 Weeks $30.00) 
Prerequisite: none
This class is design to help the student develop a pleasurable companion. The dog should know the sit command even though they may not obey when excited, teaching your dog to walk on a loose lead and perfecting reliable sit/down with a single command.

Dumbbell Reliability  Wednesday May 21, 2008) 3 Weeks $30.00) 
Prerequisite: none
This class is design to teach your dog dumbbell reliability, without mouthing, no ear pinch or collar chocking, getting started and problem solving.

Rally Run Throughs Tuesdays  May 20, 2008 7 weeks $5.00 per dog
Prerequisite: Dog should know basic obedience commands.
Rally nested courses will be setup each week. Five to ten minute walk throughs will begin promptly at 5:30pm. The run throughs will end promptly at 6:25pm. Limited to DKC members.
